It was a long drive out, but we finally made it here on Sunday. We’ve settled in nicely to our home away from home and the flow of work. John’s still working east coast time. My shift starts at 5:30am so we’re both starting work at the same time.
We’re staying in a newly renovated 1000 square foot house that has everything we need – 2 bedrooms + 1 office that has a full size bed in it + 1 bathroom and a nice little kitchen. The owners just bought it March 31 and have done an amazing job bringing it up to date. The back yard is a blank skate so they’re thrilled John and I love to garden and are taking care of things back there. Pictures to come as we complete different things.
We spent Monday exploring a little. We found the Colorado Springs version of Olde Towne Alexandria. It’s called Manitou Springs. We loved our lunch there and walking through the town. On Friday John’s taking me on a date there.
We’ve found a church to plug into and attended our first choir practice tonight. We’ll be attending Cross Fellowship Church while we’re here. My best friend’s son and his wife attend this church so we had a word up before we even got here.
